WALKING SPORTS
An interactive 2 hour workshop to develop your knowledge and understanding of fitness for walking sports.
The popularity of walking sports is clear to see. An understanding of the many health benefits, and the effect ageing has on physical performance is key to providing the most positive and effective experience for players.
In this workshop you will learn about the effect ageing has on physical performance, the trainability of strength, endurance, and mobility in later life, and how to apply key strength and conditioning principles safely to training and matchdays.
How is the workshop structured?
This is a 2 hour face to face workshop. In the workshop, you will experience a range of practical and theory, with supporting demonstrations, and question and answer sessions to meet your needs.

This workshop will help you to:
- Why walking football is so good for you.
- The effect of ageing on physical performance, and what that means for walking football
- The different fitness components required for walking football and their trainability in later life
- Reducing the risk of injury
- How to apply key strength and conditioning principles to walking football safely and effectively
